Bike-Friendly and Proud!

We already knew that San Francisco was a great city for biking, but it’s sure nice to hear from others who agree with us!
San Francisco has consistently ranked high in Bicycling magazine’s list of America’s Top 50 Bike-Friendly Cities, placing #6 in last year’s survey.
More recently, CNNgo.com just reported their picks for the most bike-friendly American cities, and San Francisco made number 5 on their list!
What makes San Francisco such a great city for biking? As the article mentions, plenty of people use their bikes for everyday transportation. Another huge factor in bike-friendliness is support from politicians, who can encourage sustainable transportation with things like bike lanes, bike racks to lock to, and laws to protect cyclists’ rights.
We also think the beautiful, mild weather we have year round helps, as does the hard work of the advocates at the San Francisco Bike Coalition. And of course, our friendly and helpful staff here at Blazing Saddles, where you rent a top-quality bike even if you don’t have your own! Come visit us and see what a world-class cycling city San Francisco is!
